Welcome to Emily Helen Photography!
Emily is my first name and Helen is my middle name. I am named after my Grandma Helen and she was very inspirational to me so I use ‘Emily Helen’ as my photography name. Most people just call me Emily, though.
I have been calling the beautiful garden island of Kauai home since 2006. I moved right after I graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. I fell in love with the lush palms, the salty ocean and the laid-back island lifestyle.
I am a photographer because I am obsessed with photographs. And, I am highly creative and taking photographs fuels my soul.
I love God’s beautiful natural lighting - sunshine! Kauai has amazing sunrises and sunsets, because the sun bounces off of our ocean creating a dreamy quality of pure luxury for the eye.
When I don't have a camera in my hand, I love going to the beach with my family, watching my kids surf, lounging on the beach, cooking, hiking trails and swimming in the ocean.

I believe in miracles and I believe that every time I see a rainbow, I feel that God is telling me that I am on the right path. Kaua'i has a lot of rainbows and I love photographing them!
Rainbows are my favorite.
My husband passed away unexpectedly in 2021. Since his passing, I have been learning to relive again. Life is not always a bowl of cherries, but I have learned to focus on my blessings.
i am a widow.
Life is busy and my heart is full. My kids keep me on my toes! We love the beach and surfing, camping, hiking and spending time on the mainland with family!
